Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep was announced by Square Enix at Tokyo Game Show 2007, along with Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts: Coded. Birth by Sleep is a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts and takes place 10 years before the main plot, mainly focusing on the three Keyblade apprentices Terra, Aqua and Ven. The three characters that appeared in the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ are chasing the Keyblade Master Master Xehanort, after he suddenly disappeared along with his apprentice.

The game will have three scenarios that can be played in any order, and while none of them is special in any way, Tetsuya Nomura (Director) stated the main focus is to reveal Ven's identity, which is very similar to Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II. The team that works on Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is the same one that created Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, and while development started early Nomura expects it to be released last.
