Square Enix has finally updated Dragon Quest V's official website, and while there isn't a whole lot going on in there, at least twenty new screenshots were added.

Dragon Quest Swords coming to Europe tomorrow

Square Enix has released a letter to the press, promoting tomorrow's Dragon Quest Swords European release. John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. commented:

"We are excited to be bringing DRAGON QUEST SWORDS to PAL territories. The DRAGON QUEST series is an international hit having sold over 43 million units worldwide, but is still relatively new to Europe. We hope that DRAGON QUEST SWORDS will find a place in the hearts of everyone."

Sony PS Day: No FFXIII, will we see it soon?

One of the most expected gaming events as of late, the Sony PlayStation Day, is now over. Final Fantasy XIII, perhaps the biggest PlayStation 3 exclusive, wasn't there. The game wasn't even mentioned in the keynote.

The game will probably have an appearance during E3, as Square Enix recently confirmed they are attending the event.

Square Enix has revealed the final Japanese cover of Dragon Quest V's Nintendo DS remake. We feel a better job could be done.

An interview with Yoshinori Kitase

Gaming website bit-tech has conducted an interview with Yoshinori Kitase. Although the main subject of the interview was Crisis Core: FFVII, it quickly changed to Final Fantasy VII. When the remake question came up, here's what Kitase had to say:

"My feelings are that if a remake were to work well then all the core members of the original team must be reassembled, all the artists and designers.

The problem is that, although all of us have an idea of what a remake should be and how to do it, organising such a thing right now is logistically very difficult. All the different members are now involved in very new, very large projects like Final Fantasy XIII and those projects are going to take a while.

Maybe, when all those games are finished then we can look at doing something like that.

Of course, that said we came up with the idea for Crisis Core in just two days. It was a case of 'this is what we want to do, so let's do it'. So, you can definitely expect the probability of something spontaneous happening at some point, but it's hard to predict."

New Infinite Undiscovery screenshots

Square Enix keeps giving us new Infinite Undiscovery goodies. Today the company has updated the official website of the game and added over 15 new screenshots of the characters that were revealed in the last Famitsu issue: Eduardo, Luka and Roka.

Official Sigma Harmonics website now open

Square Enix has now launched the official website of their new Nintendo DS IP, Sigma Harmonics. For now there are two beautiful wallpapers and lovely background music.

Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition to be released in Europe

Square Enix has announced that it will be releasing Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition across Europe on May 23, 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PC. The new edition includes the original game and all available expansions: Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urghan and the latest expansion pack Wings of the Goddess.

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments:

"The world of FINAL FANTASY XI continues to grow with both new content and new players. FINAL FANTASY XI 2008 Edition allows interested players to join the adventure with the bonus of all the expansion pack content. I hope many more players enjoy and experience the exciting world of Vana'diel and all that FINAL FANTASY XI has to offer."
